Setting Up Service Requester Self-Provisioning
A Service Request account gives requesters access to the Service Request portal, where they can submit new service requests and track the status of their submitted service requests. Service Requester account self-provisioning is available when the Allow Requester to Create Account setting on the Maintenance Settings tab of the Configuration page is enabled. Only users with GLOBAL Administrator permissions can access the Configuration page.
When the Allow Requester to Create Account setting is enabled, a unique URL for your Service Request portal is displayed. When shared with new Service Requesters, this link directs them to a page where they can create their own Service Request accounts. Refer to your company's procedures for sharing this link with new Service Requesters.
Self-Provisioning Requester Default Sites
New Service Requesters choose a default log in Site when creating their Service Request accounts. When Allow Requester to Create Account is enabled, the following Self-Provisioning Requester Default Sites options are displayed:
- Custom Default Site list - All new Service Requesters can choose their default log in Site from the Sites on this list.
- Access to all Sites - When this option is enabled, the custom default Site list is disabled and all new Requesters can select their default log in Site from all of the Sites in GLOBAL.
Note: After self-provisioning, new Service Requesters can submit service requests for either all the Sites on the custom default Site list or all Sites available in GLOBAL, depending on the above settings. Users with GLOBAL Administrator permissions can customize individual Requesters' Site access on the Security > Requesters page.
